Tonal audiometry

The purpose of this measurement is to accurately detect the extent of hearing loss. Both ears must be tested separately. The signals (pure tones) are transmitted via headphones in a soundproof environment. The result is themeasure of the minimum intensity that you can feel for a given signal.

Consideration impedance

This test is performed to verify the functionality of the middle ear at the tympanic membrane and ossicular chain.

Speech audiometry

This test detects the threshold of reception of voice and understanding of words. The test may be done with headphones or in the open air.

Behavioral Audiometry

During the 1st year the child's response to sound stimulus undergoes rapid changes, related to the learning mechanism, for example, conditioned reflexes.
This exam evaluates the presence or absence of these reflexes evoked by sound toys calibrated in frequency and intensity.
The exam must be performed by qualified personnel with proven experience in the field.
This exam is also carried out when checking prosthesis.

Acufenometria

It's a subjective measure of the characteristics of tinnitus (intensity and frequency).
LDL (Loudness discomfort level):
This test will indicate the level of tolerance of patients to the sound.

Prosthetic measurements

Prosthetic gain
It's an objective measure of functional gain of hearing aid, checking the difference in hearing threshold with and without implants.

RECD (Real Ear Coupler Difference)

It's the difference measured in dB hearing aid amplification detected in situ (ie close to the eardrum by inserting a silicone tube) and the same response recorded in a 2-cc coupler.
One advantage is that adaptation in children, allowing you to make further measurements in the ear and not on the electronic baby.

REM (Real Ear Measurement)

This measurement allows you to compare the response obtained with a response target. Measurements are then used as a means of "objective verification prosthetic." Particularly suitable for testing in young children since the duration of the measurement is about 1 minute.
